The mission of St. Mary's Episcopal-Lutheran Community, Burgaw, is to witness to the love of God in Christ for all people. To this end we commit ourselves to faithful worship as we gather together around Word and Sacrament, share our resources with those in need and invite all to share our life in Christ.

WHAT WE DO

Church women

The women's group meets the first Monday of the month at 10:00AM in the Parish Hall of the Church. They take great pride in supporting many local charities and providing food baskets for needy families for Thanksgiving. At Christmas, food, clothing and toys are provided to local families as needed. Assistance is given to persons in need of medicine, utility bills, etc.. The group is self supporting by holding several fund raising events.

St. Mary's Church welcomes:
Father Dan Macgill as its new priest-in-charge.
St. Mary's Church, an Episcopal-Lutheran Community, is pleased to announce the arrival of its new priest, Father Dan Macgill.
Father Macgill's first Sunday at St. Mary's Church was April 13, 2008.
Father Macgill is a Virginia native and a graduate of Hampton-Sydney College. After teaching in the public school system for three years, he worked with his family's petroleum business for more than two decades.
He finished four years of seminary training in 1996 and was ordained as an Episcopal priest in 1997.
Father Macgill served as the chaplain for Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia. He also served as priest-in-charge at the Chapel on the Mount in Snowshoe, WV and for St. John's Episcopal Church in Marlinton, WV.
Father Macgill is married to Sybil Owen Macgill of Greensboro, NC. They have four children and six grandchildren. The Macgills currently live in Wilmington, NC.
